Trillium FiberFuels has evaluated feedstocks in the Pacific Northwest region and paired each with the appropriate conversion technology. Through this work, we have also developed an understanding of the xylose utilization issue that faces nearly all feedstocks. We are now developing a xylose utilization technology that utilizes an enzymatic pathway as opposed to the more typical genetic engineering approach.
